Systems for measuring the thickness and width of moving flat materials directly on the production line

RODER SRL offers the new SCAN-TT series of systems for measuring thickness and width on the production line.
Suitable for real-time measurement of the thickness and width of strips, rolled products, extrusions, flat bars, calendered products, plates, profiles and discrete or continuous flat products.
The SCANT-TT family is the natural evolution of a series of sensors, systems and software initially developed to meet particular measuring needs (custom systems built specifically for particular production requirements) and subsequently engineered and standardised to become a proven, reliable product that can be offered in various production sectors and adapted to any production or quality control requirement.
The SCANT-TT family consists of a series of hardware and software components, measuring instruments, mechanical structures and distributed acquisition platforms developed specifically for the industrial production environment but which can also be used successfully in the metrology laboratory.
The considerable experience our company has gained in the field and the use of proprietary technologies developed specifically for this type of application have made it possible to improve constantly the performance of the systems for measuring thickness and width.
The SCAN-TT family consists of various modular components intended to form a complete system for measuring the thickness and/or width of continuous or discrete flat products.
The use of laser sources allows non-contact thickness and width measurements to be made directly on the material passing along the production line.
The absence of physical contact between the measuring instrument and the product to be measured brings a series of advantages, including:
The ability to measure moving objects, even at high speeds or with strong vibration.
The ability to measure easily deformable objects such as rubber, fabrics, foams, etc.
The ability to acquire a high number of samples per unit of time (up to 5000 samples per second).
No long-term wear of the measuring instrument.
Option of automatic marking of the workpiece with the tolerance class or with references to the management system (batch, selection, customer)
Cell control software able to handle any automatic adjustments of the plant as well.
No marks left by the measuring instrument on delicate or easily damaged surfaces.
