Dakota NDT CMX1-DL thickness gauge for corrosion and coatings

The CMX1-DL from Dakota NDT is a top-of-the-range thickness gauge for corrosion and coatings: it measures material and coating thickness simultaneously, with six measurement modes, temperature compensation and B-Scan. The CMX1 version offers the same measurement functions without the datalogger.

The CMX1-DL non-destructively measures remaining thickness for corrosion monitoring and, at the same time, coating thickness. The dual square-wave pulser and the receiver with manual or automatic gain control (AGC) over a 110 dB range ensure reliable measurements even through paint and coatings.

Six measurement modes cover every requirement: Pulse-Echo for pitting and flaws, Pulse-Echo Coating (material + coating), automatic temperature compensation, Echo-Echo and Echo-Echo Verify (thru-paint) and Coating Only. The -DL version adds the datalogger with 4 GB of memory; the CMX version (without -DL) has no data memory.

Frequently asked questions

Does the CMX1-DL also measure the coating?

Yes: in Pulse-Echo Coating (PECT) mode it measures material and coating thickness simultaneously; it also has a Coating Only mode.

Which measuring modes does it offer?

Six: P-E, PECT, PETP (temperature compensation), E-E, E-EV (thru-paint) and CT (coating only).

What is the difference between the CMX1 and the CMX1-DL?

The measurement functions are identical; the -DL version adds the datalogger with 4 GB of memory and screen capture.

What is the measuring range?

In Pulse-Echo from 0.63 to 1219.2 mm (0.025–48 in), with 0.01 mm resolution.
