The K50 fork thickness gauge from Käfer is a mechanical dial instrument for measuring the thickness of materials such as leather, cardboard, paper, felt, rubber, sheet metal, film and plastic, with a 0.1 mm reading and a 50 mm deep throat.
- Analogue dial gauge: 0.1 mm reading
- Measuring range: 10 mm (up to 50 mm in the other versions)
- Throat depth: 50 mm
- Contact points: interchangeable (shapes a–e)
- Lifting device: optional, force 0.4 N ±20%
- Zero setting: rotating bezel
- Materials: leather, paper, rubber, sheet metal, plastic
The K50 measures thickness by placing the material between the two contact points: the value is read on the analogue dial gauge with a 0.1 mm reading and a range of 10 mm per revolution. The standard contact point is form c; on request, at no extra charge, forms a, b, d or e are available to suit the various materials.
The K50 family includes versions with different measuring ranges (K50/2 20 mm, K50/3 30 mm, K50/5 50 mm) and the version with a lifting device, which applies a constant contact force of 0.4 N that is independent of the operator. Accuracy according to construction standard 0.0500.9.0004.
