CMX2 and CMX2-DL series ultrasonic thickness gauges

Dakota NDT CMX2-DL thickness gauge

The CMX2-DL from Dakota NDT is a two-channel thickness gauge for corrosion and coatings with A-Scan and B-Scan display: 100 MHz DSP platform, 110 dB of gain and six measurement modes. The CMX2 version offers the same functions without the datalogger.

The CMX2-DL is a two-channel thickness gauge (dual pulsers and receivers) built on a 100 MHz DSP platform with FPGA technology. The A-Scan display shows the ultrasonic waveform and the B-Scan a cross-section, for accurate assessment of remaining thickness and of coatings.

It offers six measurement modes (P-E, PECT, PETP, E-E, E-EV, CT), gain adjustable over 110 dB with AGC and linear TDG, and 4 GB of internal memory. The CMX2 version (without -DL) has no datalogger.

Frequently asked questions

What sets the CM?-DL apart from the CMX1-DLX2

The CMX2-DL is a two-channel instrument with A-Scan and B-Scan display and a 100 MHz DSP platform; it supports single, dual, delay line and pencil transducers up to 20 MHz.

Does it measure material and coating together?

Yes, in Pulse-Echo Coating (PECT) mode; it also has a Coating Only mode.

Difference between the CM? and the CMX2-DLX2

The same measurement functions; the -DL version adds the 4 GB datalogger and screen capture.

What is the measuring range?

In Pulse-Echo from 0.63 mm up to 30.48 m (0.025–100 ft), with resolution down to 0.001 mm.
