The BT1-DL from Dakota NDT is an ultrasonic bolt tension monitor: it accurately measures bolt elongation, load, stress and strain, removing the uncertainties of the torque method through direct tension measurement.
- Direct tension measurement : elongation, load, stress, % strain
- Removes torque uncertainty : real clamp load measurement
- Temperature compensation : and transducer auto-correlation
- 1–10 MHz transducers : + glue-on version for short bolts
- Auto calibration : and field calibration (vector/regression)
- 4 GB memory : USB-C, PC and OSX software
- Industries : aerospace, energy, infrastructure, railways
The BT1-DL uses ultrasound to accurately measure bolt elongation and derive from it the time of flight (in nanoseconds), the load, the stress and the percentage of strain. This removes the problems typical of torque tightening, by measuring tension directly.
The auto-correlation functions assist transducer positioning, while auto-calibration and field calibration (vector or regression) ensure repeatable measurements. It offers 64 setups, alarms with adjustable thresholds, 4 GB of memory and USB-C connectivity with reporting software for PC and OSX.
