RODER · Tramex moisture meters
Tramex moisture meters

The Tramex moisture meters distributed by RODER detect moisture in wood, concrete and building materials non-destructively, by measuring the electrical impedance of the material. The range comprises immediate, cost-effective analog instruments and digital instruments with built-in hygrometer, infrared thermometer and in-situ relative humidity probes. They are used in marine surveys, in checking moisture in concrete (ASTM F2659/F2170) and in building envelope inspection. Every model connects via Bluetooth to the Tramex Meters App to document and geo-tag the readings.

How to choose the meter
The choice of Tramex moisture meter depends on the material to be checked and on the type of reading required. The main criteria are:
- Application: marine surveys on GRP and wood (SMM5), moisture in concrete (CME5 and CMEX5), building envelope and wood inspection (ME5 and MEX5).
- Analog or digital: the analog models (SMM5, CME5, ME5) are immediate and cost-effective; the digital ones (CMEX5, MEX5) add a built-in hygrometer and in-situ probes.
- Dual depth: the SMM5, ME5 and MEX5 make it possible to compare surface moisture with moisture at depth and to remove the influence of the substrate.
- Hygrometer and in-situ probes: the CMEX5 and MEX5 measure RH, temperature and dew point and support Hygro-i2® probes for ASTM F2170 testing.
- Connectivity: every model connects via Bluetooth to the Tramex Meters App to document and geo-tag the readings.

The Tramex models

Skipper 5 SMM5
Hygrometer for marine surveys: non-destructive measurement on fibreglass (GRP) and wood, three scales and dual depth.

CME5
Concrete Moisture Encounter: moisture in concrete to ASTM F2659, with scales equivalent to the CM method.

CMEX5
Digital Concrete Moisture Encounter X5, with built-in hygrometer and Hygro-i2® in-situ RH probes.

MEX5
Digital Moisture Encounter X5 with hygrometer, IR thermometer and pin probes for wood (500+ species).
Non-destructive moisture meters for every application
The Tramex range covers every moisture-checking need: from marine surveys with the Skipper 5 SMM5 to checking moisture in concrete with the CME5 and the digital CMEX5, through to building material inspection with the ME5 and MEX5. All the instruments measure non-destructively, without damaging surfaces.
The digital CMEX5 and MEX5 instruments include a hygrometer for ambient conditions and support Hygro-i2® in-situ relative humidity probes for testing to ASTM standards, as well as pin probes for the moisture content of wood. The Bluetooth connection and the Tramex Meters App make it possible to document and geo-tag readings and turn them into professional maps and reports.
