The Concrete Moisture Encounter X5 (CMEX5) from Tramex is the digital evolution of the concrete moisture meter: quantitative non-destructive measurement with equivalence to the carbide method (CM), a built-in hygrometer and optional Hygro-i2® in-situ relative humidity probes.
- Non-destructive measurement: concrete and screeds, digital display
- CM method: carbide equivalence for concrete and anhydrite
- Built-in hygrometer: RH, ambient T, dew point, g/kg
- In-situ RH probe: Hygro-i2® optional (ASTM F2170)
- Wood hammer probes: optional, wood %MC 5–30%
- Concrete range: 0–6.9% MC
- Bluetooth + App: Tramex Meters; maps and reports
The CMEX5 detects moisture in slabs and screeds by non-destructively measuring electrical impedance: a low-frequency signal from the electrodes in the base varies in proportion to the moisture and is converted into a value shown on a large digital display, as a moisture content for concrete or as a comparative value for other screeds.
By connecting the optional Hygro-i2® probe, the CMEX5 switches to hygrometer mode for in-situ equilibrium RH measurements (ASTM F2170); with the hammer probes it becomes a resistance meter for the moisture content of wood.

Frequently asked questions
The CMEX5 is the digital version: in addition to impedance measurement on concrete it incorporates a hygrometer for ambient conditions and supports in-situ RH probes and hammer probes for wood.
Yes, with the optional Hygro-i2® probe it measures the in-situ equilibrium relative humidity in concrete.
From 0 to 6.9% moisture content, with scales equivalent to the carbide method (CM) for concrete and anhydrite.
Yes, by connecting the optional hammer probes it measures the moisture content of wood (5–30%).
