Shimpo cap torque testers
The Shimpo cap torque testers distributed by RODER measure the opening and closing torque of caps, closures and threaded components, a critical parameter for the quality of packaged products. The range comprises handheld and bench instruments, with different capacities and clamping diameters, data memory and PC connection. They are used in the pharmaceutical, food, beverage, cosmetics and chemical industries for in-production quality control, testing and R&D.
How to choose the torque tester
The choice of cap torque tester depends on the type of test, the size of the samples and the working environment. The main criteria are:
- Handheld or bench: the FG-7000TA is handheld with an external transducer; the TNC and TNP are bench instruments for repetitive testing.
- Torque capacity: from 50 N·cm up to 20 N·m, according to the type of closure to be tested.
- Sample diameter: from small flasks (10–14 mm) to large containers (up to 190 mm).
- Measuring modes: Peak/First Peak, Auto Peak, Double Peak and opening/closing modes, according to the analysis required.
- Quality control: go/no-go or HI-GO-LO comparator for the rapid testing of large batches.
- Data management: internal memory, USB/RS-232 outputs and software for statistical analysis.

Cap torque testers for packaging quality control
The correct cap tightening torque guarantees the seal, the shelf life and the safety of the product: too little torque compromises the closure, too much makes the container hard to open or damages it. Shimpo torque testers make it possible to measure and certify opening and closing values repeatably, with handheld (FG-7000TA) or bench (TNC, TNP) instruments.
