The DL2 series LED illuminators from Visiotronix Photolux are LED matrix illuminators for the direct lighting of vision systems and optical machines, available with clear or semi-transparent glass, with RMD© driver and HTTM© technology for a stable, homogeneous light emission.
- High density LED matrix with integrated lens: direct and homogeneous beam
- Choice of glass: clear (direct light) or semi-transparent (more diffused light)
- 24 Vdc ±10% power supply through a 3-pole M8 connector
- 3 colours: neutral white 5500K, blue 465 nm, red 630 nm
- 12 emission areas from 25×100 to 100×300 mm (others on request)
- Anodised aluminium body, IP40, 10–50 °C, CE-RoHS
- HTTM© technology and RMD© driver, reverse polarity protection, 48h test certificate
The DL2 series consists of a high density, high brightness LED matrix with integrated lens, for direct lighting in confined spaces. Compared with the DL1 series, the DL2 is available with two types of glass — clear for maximum intensity and directionality, or semi-transparent for a more diffused, uniform light — to match the lighting to the type of surface and inspection.
The anodised aluminium body ensures robustness and heat dissipation; HTTM© technology keeps the luminous flux stable and extends the life of the LEDs, while the controlled current RMD© (RODER Multi Driver) driver guarantees homogeneity and chromatic stability of the emission. It is the ideal choice for system integrators and OEMs.

Standard models; other dimensions (up to 25×800 mm) on request. The complete product code is PL-DL2-[area]-[colour]-A0/A1 (0 = clear glass, 1 = semi-transparent).
Typical configurations
- Direct lighting of the object to be inspected, with the angle of incidence chosen according to the type of control.
- Low-cost backlight: with a diffusing glass at the optimal distance, a high brightness backlight is obtained (diffuser not supplied as standard).
- Semi-transparent glass for a softer, more uniform light, useful for reducing reflections on glossy surfaces.
Machine vision systems for quality control on the production line combine cameras and dedicated LED illuminators: ring and coaxial lighting ensures sharp, repeatable images for the automatic detection of defects.

Typical applications
Applications built and documented with the DL2 series LED illuminators:

DL2 illuminators for vision with cameras
The DL2 series LED illuminators provide direct, uniform lighting for vision systems with industrial cameras; the choice of clear or semi-transparent glass makes it possible to match the lighting effect to the type of inspection and to the surface.

Visual inspection of miniaturised components
Visual inspection of miniaturized components with machine vision systems calls for compact, uniform LED illuminators: high-intensity direct light reveals defects and details, ensuring accuracy and repeatability in quality control.

Special lighting for in-line vision
Special lighting systems for industrial vision on the production line: LED illuminators with direct light or backlight to enhance the contrast, edges and details of the objects to be inspected on inspection benches.
Frequently asked questions
The two series share the LED matrix for direct lighting; the DL2 is available with clear or semi-transparent glass, integrates the RMD© driver and has a temperature range of 10–50 °C with CE-RoHS certification.
Semi-transparent glass makes the light more diffused and uniform, reducing reflections and bright spots on glossy surfaces; clear glass instead offers maximum intensity and directionality.
Neutral white 5500K, blue 465 nm and red 630 nm, selectable in the product code (WHI/BLU/RED).
With a 24 Vdc ±10% voltage through an industrial-standard 3-pole M8 connector with threaded ring nut.
IP40 protection rating, temperature range 10–50 °C, with CE and RoHS certification.
