Large size LED illuminator series for backlight applications
The DL4 LED illuminator series consists of a modular, high density, high brightness LED matrix. Thanks to these features, the DL4 series illuminators are ideal for building large size illuminators.
RCCR© current driver
The DL4 LED illuminator series integrates the RCCR© (RODER Constant Current Regulator) current driver, which stabilises and equalises the current in every LED of the matrix. This provides a high uniformity of light emission and stabilises the LED current even with small variations in the supply voltage. Unlike traditional technologies (a resistor in series with the LED string), the RCCR© current driver achieves optimal control of the current in the LED and a consequent improvement in the homogeneity characteristics of the emitted light.
HTTM© technology
The DL4 LED illuminator series uses HTTM© (High Thermal Transmission Material) technology to dissipate the heat generated by the LEDs. Correct heat dissipation allows the light sources and the control electronics to maintain optimal working conditions. For this reason, a special layer of material is used inside the illuminator for the contact between the LEDs and the housing.

Would you like help choosing the right product ?
Why choose an illuminator from the DL4 family?
- High density LED matrix
High density LED matrix with integrated lens to create a direct and homogeneous light beam. The LED matrix is kept regular by means of a special mounting mask that guarantees uniform LED mounting spacing. - Industrial connector
Connector with threaded fastening for easy mounting and quick disconnection in case of maintenance. The cable is secured by a flexible cable gland to guarantee a small bending radius. - Aluminium housing
Black anodised aluminium housing. The use of aluminium guarantees high heat dissipation from the LEDs and excellent mechanical robustness. - Reverse polarity protection
The internal circuits are protected against reverse polarity of the supply voltage. The protection operates in the event of incorrect connection of the power supply cables. - Ultra high efficiency, high intensity LEDs
Use of the latest generation of high brightness, low power LEDs. The LEDs used in the DL4 series have an integrated lens, offer state of the art characteristics and are manufactured by the largest LED producer in the world. - HTTM© technology
Use of HTTM technology for high dissipation of the heat produced by the LEDs. A special layer of material is used inside the illuminator for the contact between the LEDs and the housing. - RCCR© internal current source driver
The DL4 series illuminators incorporate a LED current stabiliser circuit for improved homogeneity of the emitted light. The RCCR© current driver achieves optimal control of the current in the LED and a consequent improvement in the homogeneity characteristics of the emitted light. - 48H test certificate
Every illuminator undergoes a 48 hour test cycle and a test certificate is issued with the product. This procedure guarantees a high quality of the product delivered to the customer. - Industrial design
The entire DL4 family is designed for industrial use on vision systems or optical test benches. The target customer for this product family is the industrial machine manufacturer or the vision system integrator.
Typical applications

In depth
LED illuminators are a key component in ensuring high performance in machine vision systems and in optical inspection benches and quality control. Correct lighting is essential to obtain sharp, detailed images, allowing inspection systems to detect defects, measure dimensions and verify product quality with the greatest precision.
Advantages of LED illuminators:
- High intensity and uniformity: thanks to the use of latest-generation LEDs, our illuminators provide uniform, high-intensity lighting, ideal for applications that require a clear and detailed view.
- Durability and reliability: the LEDs used are designed to withstand harsh operating conditions, ensuring long service life and low maintenance.
- Flexibility of use: available in various configurations (bar, ring, backlight, etc.), the illuminators can be easily integrated into existing vision systems or customised for specific requirements.
- Lower energy costs: thanks to their energy efficiency, LED illuminators reduce consumption while delivering high performance.
Typical applications:
- Automatic visual inspection: detection of defects on production lines, checking of labels, inspection of surfaces and components.
- Testing and quality control: used on optical benches to test product characteristics such as dimensions, shape and colour.
- Code reading and OCR: support for traceability applications and the automatic reading of barcodes and characters.
Our LED illuminators are designed to meet the most demanding requirements of industrial applications, improving operating efficiency and ensuring high quality of the end product.
