FD1 series flat dome LED illuminators

FD1 series flat dome LED illuminator Visiotronix Photolux with diffused light

The FD1 series flat dome LED illuminators from Visiotronix Photolux (RODER VISION) are high intensity diffused dome illuminators with a central aperture for coaxial camera mounting: the diffused light creates uniform “dome” lighting that eliminates shadows and reflections, ideal for curved, glossy or reflective surfaces.

The FD1 series is an advanced family of flat dome LED illuminators. Derived from the DC6 ring series, it combines a modular matrix of 50×50 mm tiles with diffusing optics that turn high intensity light into uniform “dome” lighting: this effect eliminates shadows and reflections and is particularly effective on curved, glossy or reflective surfaces. The central aperture makes it possible to mount the camera lens along the optical axis, capturing images free of shadows.

To guarantee metrological grade repeatability, the internal MCCD and RCCR© drivers stabilise the current across all the LEDs; HTTM© technology preserves their thermal integrity. The M8 connector with anti-vibration ring nut, the reverse polarity protection, the clear protective glass and the aluminium frame with T-slots ensure industrial reliability.

Why choose an FD1 illuminator

  • Diffused dome lighting for uniform images free of shadows and reflections.
  • Central aperture for coaxial camera mounting (axial lighting).
  • Ideal for curved, glossy or reflective surfaces where direct light would create reflections.
  • MCCD + RCCR© driver for a stable current and metrological grade repeatability.
  • HTTM© technology for efficient heat dissipation and LED longevity.
  • Clear protective glass and aluminium frame with T-slots for mounting.
  • Anti-vibration M8 connector and reverse polarity protection.

Frequently asked questions

What is an FD1 flat dome illuminator?

It is a diffused dome illuminator with a central aperture: the high intensity light is diffused to create uniform “dome” lighting that eliminates shadows and reflections, ideal on curved, glossy or reflective surfaces.

How does it differ from the DC6 ring series?

The FD1 derives from the DC6 and shares its 50×50 mm tile matrix and central aperture, but adds diffusing optics that produce uniform dome lighting instead of direct ring light.

Which sizes and colors are available?

10 sizes from 150×150 to 550×650 mm, in four emissions: 5000K white, 470 nm blue, 625 nm red and 850 nm infrared.

How is it powered and what protection does it have?

With a voltage of 24 Vdc ±5% through a 3-pole anti-vibration M8 connector; IP40 protection rating, clear protective glass and aluminium frame with T-slots.

How do I order a specific model?

With the code PL-FD1-YYYYYY-XXX-A00000, indicating dimensions and colour (WHI/BLU/RED/INF); the part numbers of the individual models are supplied on request.
